Here's the scoop...

Minuteman Media distributes sound, progressive opinion to places where it is sorely needed -- smaller newspapers nationwide. These newspapers subscribe, because they don't get such material anywhere else, and it's free. It also helps balance the flood of free columns that comes in daily from the prolific Right.

Each weekly packet carries six columns and a cartoon. Typical topics are: Peace and Disarmament; Women's Rights; Environment; Campaign Finance; Media Watchdogging; Civil Rights; Agribusiness; Government Whistleblowing; Poverty; and Consumer Action.

Editors covet this diversity because that's what their readers want. In the Farm Belt, for example, they love the ag pieces.

Our "Partner Organizations" and Authors...

Thirty to 35 national think tanks and advocacy groups write for us pretty regularly. Most are on a eight-week cycle. Jim Hightower and Donald Kaul contribute every week, as does cartoonist Ben Dib. Still others write once in a while. For a list of "Partner Organizations" and links to their web sites, CLICK HERE. For brief biographies of our authors, CLICK HERE.

Who reads it?

So far 1,500+ local papers subscribe, roughly half dailies and half weeklies. That's over 20 million homes! Typical newspaper size is about 10,000 circulation. We don't knowingly solicit any paper over 100,000.

Who pays for it?

Oy! Raising money is an awful drag. Most foundations of good will, unlike their Rightist counterparts, don't focus on media. Most want to aid people directly. Some promote critical policies. Few see the general nurturing of progressive opinion as a means to those ends. If you happen to, bless you. Click on the "FUNDERS" link for a list of our current and past funders.

Why donate?

We are poor. Since we don't feed starving children or save wetlands (directly), donors don't rush to our aid. Thus we're always living on the edge.

We don't preach to the saved -- only to average citizens...

No one else is doing this stuff on anything like our scale...

No waste. We all work from our own homes for low pay...
